Tony Okungboowa

Actor, producer, DJ and America's favorite sidekick on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Tony was raised in London and Lagos by Nigerian parents. He received an undergraduate degree in Drama from England's Middlesex University after which he moved to New York City for graduate study at Lee Strasberg. It was in Manhattan where his career took off, landing roles on shows like The NCIS LA, Law and Order SVU and many others. Next he was off to Los Angeles where his work as an actor and DJ were kicked into high gear. Soon he was spinning at celebrity photo shoots for the top names in Hollywood, including Beyonce, Adam Sandler,Will Ferrell Dr.Dre to name a few and It was on one of these photo shoots where he met Ellen DeGeneres, and the rest is history! He became the man who made Ellen dance every day and was a fixture on the hit show for an incredible 10-season run.

Besides Djing on the Ellen show, Tony is in constant demand to play at high profile events around the world including Grammy’s, Espy’s and corporate events for Motorola among others. His love of music can also be found in albums he has released and collaborated on including, “Hollywood sessions Vol. 1”, “Total Dance 2009” and ‘A Night to Remember”.

Recently, Tony has set his sights behind the camera, as well. He starred in and produced the film "Mother of George" a Sundance Festival 2013 official selection. He also starred in and executive produced, "Restless City" which was another official selection at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival and came to the big screen in 2012. Under his Turntable Studios banner Tony produced and starred in the soon to be released “Echo Park” which was an official selection at the Los Angeles Film fest 2014. Tony continues to expand his horizons as an entertainer and as a visionary. He's broken ground, charmed the world, and the best is yetto come.
